“Sigma Kappa has gifted me with a broader horizon, inviting me to grow, dream, and break through the boundaries of ‘ordinary living’.”

~Lyle Meisner Williams

Epsilon Beta Chapter, University of New Orleans

B.S. Marketing (‘81)

When I became a member many years ago, I met a group of young ladies who helped me through my first year of college.  College, after all, was a new environment, exciting, yet unknown.  I met and grew into the Sigma Kappa Sisterhood throughout my college days. Sigma Kappa was my rock.  It kept me going when things got bad, and most probably instrumental  in keeping me on course.  Sigma Kappa was fun and full of experiential learning.  I was provided with leadership opportunities, and those challenges prepared me to go forth with the successful professional career I am enjoying today.  Thanks Sigma Kappa for all you have done  for me."

“My absolute best college memories are those made within Sigma Kappa's realm.  The friendships, support and common interests I have cultivated through this great sorority have already carried me across state lines and will be taken with me wherever I may travel.”

The Greater New Orleans Alumnae Chapter held various social events the past year for it's members.  Events included scrap booking parties, a holiday party, and a New Year's Eve lunch and a skate party.  The alumnae helped support the Epsilon Beta Chapter the past year by helping out with recruitment events, funding the Jenny Geier Memorial Award, and celebrating Founders' Day with the collegiates at a luncheon held at Andrea's Restaurant in November.  The Alumnae Chapter annually helps organize a team of Sigma Kappa's to participate at the Alzheimer's Memory Walk held at Audubon Park. "Team Sigma Kappa", is composed of alumnae and collegiates.  This past walk, Team Sigma Kappa was awarded the largest group participation at the Memory Walk!
